Violet and Daisy 2013 Movie Storyline/Plot
Violet & Daisy is a 2011 American
action comedy-drama film written, produced, and directed by Geoffrey S.
Fletcher and starring Saoirse Ronan and Alexis Bledel. The film was
given its first release at the Toronto International Films Festival in
2011 and did not receive a theatrical release until 2013 where it had a
limited theatrical run. Geoffrey S. Fletcher credits Pulp Fiction,
Superbad, and Thelma & Louise as inspiration for this film. The film
was one of James Gandolfini’s last acting roles before his tragic death
on June 19, 2013. The film’s plot concerns two teenage assassins named
Violet and Daisy, best friends who accept what they think will be a
quick and easy job, until an unexpected target throws them off plan.
Violet & Daisy is the story of Daisy (Saoirse Ronan) and her surreal
and violent journey through New York City as a contract killer together
with her volatile partner-in-crime and best friend Violet (Alexis
Bledel). The two young assassins face a series of opponents, including
one unusually mysterious man named Michael (James Gandolfini), who is
their next target. They accept the job to assassinate him from their
boss Russ (Danny Trejo) and they plan to use the money to buy dresses
from the clothes line of their celebrity idol Barbie Sunday (Cody Horn).
Things get complicated as this initially easy hit becomes a
