So Young 2013 Movie Storyline/Plot

So Young is a 2013 Chinese drama film directed by Zhao Wei. It is based on the best-selling novel of the same name To Our Youth that is Fading Away by Xin Yiwu. The film is Zhao’s directorial debut. The film’s English-language title alludes to the song So Young by the British alternative rock band Suede from their self-titled debut album. In addition to the novel, the film was also based in part by Zhao’s own personal college experience in the 1990s. The film has become a major success at the Chinese box office, grossing over US$116 million with a US$5 million budget. Zheng Wei started her college freshman year as a civil engineer major to be in the same city as her childhood playmate, Lin Jing, who she determined she will marry one day. When Wei visited Jing at his college dormitory however, Jing’s roommate told her Jing left for America. Unable to understand why Jing abruptly left without saying goodbye, Wei felt heartbroken. Back in her college dormitory, Wei became close friends with her three roommates, Ruan Guan, the most beautiful and popular girl in the class; Li Weijuan, a practical and realistic girl who came from province but determined to marry well; and Zhu Xiaobei, a tomboy. The four girls talked about their goals in life, and all cheered to Ruan Guan’s ambition—to have a youth that will never fade away. Wei also befriended Lao Zhang and his roommate Xu Kaiyang, architecture majors, during the college clubs and activities fair. Kaiyang came from a well-to-do family and started his romantic pursuit for Wei, but Wei would only regard him as a friend. One evening Wei went to Lao Zhang and Kaiyang’s dorm room to borrow their DVDs. Wei was amazed and disgusted by the messy condition of the male dormroom, except one bed and corner that was neat and clean. Lao Zhang said this spot belonged to their disciplined and hardworking roommate, Chen Xiaozheng. Laozhang went out of the room to find his DVDs, leaving Wei alone in the room. Wei saw a near finished building model on the table and started fumbling with the parts. At this moment Xiaozheng came back and angrily yelled out, “What are you doing there?” Startled and swinging around to see who was yelling at her, Wei knocked the model off the table. Xiaozheng managed to save his model by shoving Wei out of the way. Wei stumbled to the floor and was enraged at her humiliation. Wei angrily demanded an apology from Xiaozheng, but Xiaozheng coolly replied that he had nothing to apologize for and that it was her fault to touch his building model. From then on, Wei was determined to repeatedly humiliate Xiaozheng as a revenge to at least get his apology that she believed she deserves. Through her attempts Wei realized she in fact, liked Xiaozheng. From Lao Zhang and Weijuan, Wei learned that Xiaozheng came from a poor family and was raised by a strict mother, hence his aloof and disciplined personality. Wei declared her interest in Xiaozheng, then openly, relentlessly, and shamelessly stalked Xiaozheng to get his attention, much to his annoyance. Iron Man 3 (stylized onscreen as Iron Man Three) is a 2013 superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Iron Man, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.1 It is the sequel to 2008’s Iron Man and 2010’s Iron Man 2, and the seventh installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Shane Black directed a screenplay he co-wrote with Drew Pearce, which uses concepts from the “Extremis” story arc by Warren Ellis. The film stars Robert Downey, Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau, and Ben Kingsley. In Iron Man 3, Tony Stark tries to recover from posttraumatic stress disorder caused by the events of The Avengers, while investigating a terrorist organization led by the mysterious Mandarin. After the release of Iron Man 2 in May 2010, Favreau decided not to return as director, and in February 2011 Black was hired to write and direct the film. Black and Pearce opted to make the script more character-centric and focused on thriller elements. Throughout April and May 2012, the film’s supporting cast was filled out, with Kingsley, Pearce, and Hall brought in to portray key roles. Filming began on May 23, and lasted through December 17, 2012, primarily at EUE/Screen Gems Studios in Wilmington, North Carolina. Additional shooting took place at various locations around North Carolina, as well as Florida, China and Los Angeles. The visual effects were handled by 17 companies, including Scanline VFX, Digital Domain, and Weta Digital. The film was converted to 3D in post-production. Iron Man 3 premiered at Le Grand Rex in Paris on April 14, 2013. It began its release on April 25, 2013, internationally, and debuted in the United States one week later on May 3. The film was both critically and commercially successful, grossing over $1.2 billion worldwide, the second highest-grossing film of 2013 overall, and the second-highest-grossing film at the domestic box office released in 2013. It became the 16th film to gross over $1 billion and currently ranks as the sixth-highest-grossing film of all time and the sixth-highest-grossing opening of all time. Star Trek Into Darkness is a 2013 American science fiction action film. It is the twelfth installment in the Star Trek film franchise and the sequel to 2009’s Star Trek and the second in the reboot series. The film was directed by J. J. Abrams from a screenplay by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Damon Lindelof based on the series of the same name created by Gene Roddenberry. Lindelof, Orci, Kurtzman, and Abrams are also producers, with Bryan Burk. Chris Pine reprises his role as Captain James T. Kirk, with Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg, Leonard Nimoy, John Cho, and Bruce Greenwood reprising their roles from the previous film. Benedict Cumberbatch, Peter Weller, and Alice Eve round out the film’s principal cast. The plot of Into Darkness takes place one year after the previous installment, with Kirk and the crew of the USS Enterprise sent to the Klingon homeworld seeking former Starfleet member-turned-terrorist John Harrison. After the release of Star Trek, Abrams, Burk, Lindelof, Kurtzman, and Orci agreed to produce its sequel. Filming began in January 2012. Into Darkness’s visual effects were primarily created by Industrial Light & Magic. The film was converted to 3D in post-production. Star Trek Into Darkness premiered at Event Cinemas in Sydney, Australia, on April 23, 2013,[5] and was released on May 9 in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Peru,[6] with other countries following. In 2259, the starship USS Enterprise studies a primitive culture on the planet Nibiru. Captain James T. Kirk and First Officer Spock save the planet’s inhabitants from an extinction-threatening volcanic eruption, but Kirk violates the Prime Directive, exposing the Enterprise to the native inhabitants. Returning to Earth, Kirk loses command of the Enterprise and Admiral Christopher Pike is reinstated as its commanding officer with Kirk demoted to first officer and the rank of Commander. The two attend a meeting to discuss the bombing of a Section 31 installation in London perpetrated by the renegade Starfleet operative John Harrison. Raze 2013 Movie Storyline/Plot

Raze is a 2013 exploitation film that was directed by Josh C. Waller.[1] The film premiered on April 21, 2013 at the Tribeca Film Festival and stars Zoë Bell as a woman forced to fight against various other women for the twisted entertainment of the wealthy elite. Sabrina (Zoë Bell), along with 49 other women, are kidnapped by the diabolical husband and wife team of Elizabeth (Sherilyn Fenn) and Joseph (Doug Jones). The women are told that they will fight to the death for the entertainment of a group of bored rich people. If they lose or refuse to fight, a sniper will kill their loved ones. While creating Raze, Waller tried to treat the film “as seriously as if it were men that were abducted and forced to fight each other.”[3] For him this meant avoiding stereotypes typically seen within the “largely exploitative subgenre of women-in-prison” such as nudity, as he felt that viewers would not see this in an all-male exploitation film.[3] Waller also tried to avoid gratuitous gore.[4] Raze was shot with a very tight schedule and the crew had only 30 days to film 19 action sequences.[4] Partway through filming, Rosario Dawson was brought onto the set for a cameo as she had previously worked together with Bell and Thoms on the 2007 film Death Proof.[3] Bell was not made aware of Dawson’s casting or arrival, as Waller wanted her appearance to come as a surprise. Critical reception for Raze has been mixed and the film currently holds a rating of 50% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 30 reviews.[5] Criticism for the film predominantly centered upon the familiarity of the film’s plot,[6] and Fearnet reviewer Scott Weinberg commented that “[7] Raze is simply a gender-friendly twist on a very conventional tale, but it’s still a rather fun way to spend 85 minutes if you’re tired of the same old action.” The Hollywood Reporter criticized the movie’s screenplay, as they felt that it did not give actors Jones and Fenn enough to work with and also opined that the movie’s “opening title card, which cites statistics about the number of women who go missing in any given year — the co-opting of real-world suffering making it that much harder to go along with Waller’s idea of it’s-only-a-midnight-movie kicks.”[8] In contrast Twitch Film praised Bell’s acting as one of the film’s highlights, as they felt that it helped “lift Raze above similarly themed genre film endeavors.”[9] The New York Times opined that the film would not appeal to everyone but that “there is food for thought here about the subjugation and exploitation of women, the limits of psychological and physical endurance, and more.” (Source: Wikipedia)
